“We, the people of Allendale United Methodist Church of St. Petersburg, Florida, commit to support and celebrate same-sex marriages. We believe that banning same-sex marriage is inconsistent with Christ’s teaching, and the constitution of the United Methodist Church. We are called upon to use the freedom and power God gives us to resist evil, injustice, and oppression in whatever forms they present themselves.  We fully recognize and assume the risks associated with these commitments. Our sanctuary is open for all to make a commitment of love and fidelity through Christian marriage.”
